You can delete your mods folder and just re-download the ones that you'll need to join the server that you want. Just go to your file path for ark. SteamLibray Steamapps common ARK ShooterGame Content and delete the mod folder or everything in it. The game will remake it when queuing for the server you want to join. · For example, subscribing to the mod "Structures plus (open source)" which overhauls and improves the entire building system in ARK, will download 1 file, and 2 folders initially. After ARK has been started, and the mod is actually installed, those will become 5 files and 20 folders full of content. The current ARK/Steam mod setup is kinda retarded. The moment that a mod author submits a mod update to the Steam workshop, every single server that hosts that mod will no longer allow players to join until the server updates and gets the latest copy of that mod. I tried to join a server that I ended up not wanting to join, as my friend joined a different one, and now it keeps wanting me to download the 77 mods queued. Find each mod in the workshop directory in the Steam client from outside the game and install them. Open the game and let the game complete installation.
